If you own an iPad and have young kids, you’re going to want to know about this iPad App!
There’s a new Storybook iPad App called “What Does My Teddy Bear Do All Day?” which is available on iTunes for only $3.99. The special price of $3.99 is a reduced price and lower than other premium book apps. This storybook from Auryn is a great interactive book experience that can be enjoyed by both kids and parents.
The story is about a little girl’s curiosity regarding what her teddy does when she’s away. She wants to catch her teddy doing something when he thinks she’s not looking. On each page, the story is read aloud to you and then you can interact select characters and objects.
The story is written by author Bruno Hachler and illustrated by Birte Muller. The iPad App is based on a best selling print edition published by Minedition, which co-released the App with Auryn.
You MUST watch the ‘What Does My Teddy Bear Do All Day?” Video Promo to get a better understanding of what it’s all about.
When I first viewed the promotional video, I thought “what a cool and fun digital storybook. I bet my kids would love it!”
Well, my kids and I personally experienced the Teddy Bear App. All three of my kids would enthusiastically agree they LOVE the Teddy Bear App! The first time they got their fingers on it (literally) they spent at least one (1) hour totally engaged in the story. It would have been longer if I hadn’t made them take a break
They loved all the playful interaction on each page. My kids personal favorites are making flowers spin on the wall, Teddy and the doll dancing, and viewing Teddy through a door peep hole and binoculars. Their most favorite page was the “hide and seek” page (that’s what my kids like to call that particular page). Teddy is hiding from the little girl and you tap around helping to look for Teddy. My kids laugh every time they play on this page.
The “What Does My Teddy Bear Do All Day?” iPad App also includes bonus features such as a color drawing tablet, a mini puzzle and a splatter paint page where children can uncover secret images. My kids think the color drawing tablet is so much fun. They love it because the picture they draw gets placed on the wall of a storybook page. They really felt like they were a part of that story page because their artwork was displayed.
Overall, the Teddy Bear App is a wonderful digital book experience. The amount of money spent (only $3.99) goes a long way. As I mentioned earlier, my kids can spend at least one non-stop hour (probably longer) of fun reading and playing it.
