I decided to make a fun Thanksgiving craft since the egg carton bats and ghost leaves were such a hit during Halloween with my kiddos. This time I’m making turkeys. I used googly eyes again just like I did for the egg carton bats. I’ve also used it to make some adorable Easter bunnies. I think googly eyes make craft animals look cuter.
The materials used for these turkey cups were clear cups, googly eyes, fall colored paper, pencil, scissors, glue stick and glue dots. I also used food to fill the cups. One cup has chocolate milk, one has chocolate pudding, and the other has chocolate candy (Whoppers).

Do you sense a chocolate theme?
Want to know how to make these Thanksgiving Turkey cups?! Here’s the tutorial?
I cut out some feathers from fall colored cardstock paper. I then cut out brown circles using a circle puncher and cut out some beaks and waddles.
I glued the paper feathers together first. I then made the turkey’s face by gluing the googly eyes, beak and waddle on a brown circle.
I glued the feathers onto the cup. If you look closely at the cup, you can see I used two glue dots which worked great. Lastly, I adhered the turkey’s head on the front of the cup by also using a glue dot.
These turkey cups would be fun as a Thanksgiving craft activity, a drink cup for the kids or a snack cup.

Do you use just regular elmer’s glue?
Hi Aimee – I used a glue stick to attach the paper feathers to each other and to attach the eyes, beak and waddle to the brown circle. But to secure the face and paper feathers to the cup I used glue dots as described in the post.
Started making these with my oldest girl today . . . we’re going to take them in to her kindergarten pals next week. Thanks so much!
Oh, and I meant to add my changes–
Used colored foam instead of cardstock for beak and feathers. Since the feathers were a little thicker, I only used 4 instead of 5. Spread them out kind of like cards versus layering in a stack (got too thick).
Hi Megan – You’re welcome! Thanks for sharing how you used foam instead of cardstock. Hope your daughter’s class enjoyed.
These are so cute! I love how easy they are to do too! If you get a chance, I would love it if you could link it up to my party, The Creative Spark. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Pinned this!

I loved it!!! Just one question. Did you use any special glue because of the plastic?
I am going to do this cute craft for my adults group and I hope they love it as I did!
Congratssss
Hi Aline, I used glue dots. For example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WWK5L0/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=happycl-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B000WWK5L0
You can find them at craft stores. Hope you all enjoy it. -Debbie
