If you’re a mom with kids, especially in preschool or elementary school, then you are familiar with the parent sign-up sheet for parties. You know the one. The teacher lists food and party supplies for parents to contribute and then the parents put their names besides an item or two.
When my kids were in preschool, I was the mom who would volunteer to bring plates, cups, napkins or a bag of pretzels. Something easy and didn’t require me to make it.
I was definitely not putting together all the cute treats you’ve seen here the past few years. The cute stuff started coming out of my kitchen when all my kids were out of preschool. Maybe, it’s because I was a slacker back then. Maybe, it was because there was no Pinterest to inspire me. I like to tell myself it’s because I was busy with 3 kids in preschool with little time for anything else.
Anyways, when it comes to my kids birthday classroom treats, now I will happily make an adorable sweet treat. My daughter asked me to create something using Cocoa Krispies Treats for her birthday classroom snack. And so I did – Reindeer Cocoa Krispies Treats. I based it off the reindeer treats, Mini Reindeer Donuts, I made last year.
I made the classic Rice Krispies Treats recipe using Cocoa Krispies.
I cut the Rice Krispies Treats into squares.
I used Wilton Candy Eyeballs. The noses are red M&Ms. I used chocolate icing to keep the eyes and noses in place on the Cocoa Krispies Treats. I drew the antlers using chocolate icing with a round tip. And that’s all I did. Easy.
Have you made any reindeer treats this holiday season?
